Now you can confirm that everything is working as expected with the new setup. Remember that to fully test the new fields and flows, including solutions, you will need to set up your solutions within the Tackle Platform in your Tackle test account. If you haven’t done so already, follow the steps here from your Tackle test account.

You will need to test the workflows in both Salesforce and in the Tackle Platform.

It is highly recommended that you test the new fields and workflows in a sandbox environment prior to pushing the changes to production. Once you migrate to the new data model, you cannot go back. The workflows you need to test to be confident to push this upgrade to production are outlined below. If you run into any issues, reach out to Tackle for help.

You will need the following resources:

  • Alliance Lead

  • Salesforce Admin

Note

If you are not using the Tackle Salesforce integration or testing in a Salesforce sandbox environment, then you can skip this step.

Test your workflows in Salesforce

Test creating an outbound co-sell

  1. Create a co-sell individually in the Tackle Salesforce integration. Pay attention to each field that has been added or changed and make sure that any mapped fields are displaying correctly.

    1. You can follow these documentation steps if you need further creation assistance.

  2. Navigate to your opportunities to view the created co-sell and verify that all fields look correct.

Edit a co-sell

Edit a field on a co-sell to ensure that field updates are syncing as expected:

  1. Navigate to an open opportunity in your Salesforce sandbox that you have created while testing.

  2. Click the edit icon for a field and make a change. Do this to as many fields as you’d like to test.

  3. Navigate to your Tackle test account to confirm that those applied field changes have been synced.

Accept an inbound co-sell

Request test cloud originated opportunities to see how they appear in the app. To test inbound opportunities, you will request those from your Tackle test account.

Before starting the steps below, watch this video guide to familiarize yourself with the expected process for requesting an inbound co-sell.

To accept an inbound co-sell:

  1. Navigate to the Co-sell tab in your Tackle test account, and click the “Request inbound” button to generate one inbound co-sell.

  2. Once you have requested an inbound from Tackle, it will show up in your Salesforce sandbox. To test that, navigate to your Salesforce sandbox to view that it is synced there.

  3. If you use the Insert Lead on Inbound Tackle Co-Sell flow from Tackle to create new lead records when new inbound co-sell records are created, verify that a lead has been created after your test inbound has been sent.

Close a co-sell

Now that you have tested outbound and inbound co-sells, step through closing a co-sell as well:

  1. Confirm that your permissions are set correctly. It is up to you to decide which Salesforce users will have the ability to close co-sells. Work with your Salesforce Admin to ensure that the right permissions are set for the right people to be able to do this.

  2. When you are closing an opportunity in Salesforce, the flow will prompt you to select Closed Won or Closed Lost.

  3. Depending on your selection, either submit a reason for Closed Lost, or answer a few questions for Closed Won and click Submit to Cloud. When you do this, it will both close the opportunity and co-sell record in Salesforce, and send this information to the cloud to close it there as well.

  4. Closing a co-sell from the Tackle Platform can be tested as well in your Tackle test account. If you selected "Yes" on the SaaS Documentation question when you added your solutions to Tackle, any required fields for special programs will display here.

    1. If you selected "Yes" on the SaaS Documentation question, these fields will be displayed:

    2. If you selected "No" on the SaaS Documentation question, these fields will be displayed:

If you have any questions or concerns about the testing process, reach out to Tackle support.
