How Tackle test environments work
These environments enable you to verify your configurations before deploying them in a live setting, ensuring everything is functioning as expected before switching to your live production environment.
In Tackle, you’ll know you’re in a test environment when:
There is an orange Test icon in the lower left of the app navigation. Orange Warning banners and indicators are displayed throughout the application
When using test environments:
Certain pages and sections of Tackle are disabled when you're in a Test Environment.
Marketplace connections on the Account Settings page are not currently available in test environments.
Test environments are currently available to test AWS Co-Sell configurations only.
When testing your AWS Co-Sell configuration in a test environment, there is no setup required. You will automatically be connected to a test AWS Co-Sell marketplace connection.
Benefits of using test environments
Safe Testing - Test integration settings without the risk of affecting your live data.
Error Prevention - Detect and resolve potential configuration errors early.
Connection verification - For example, you can check that your Co-sell connection is correct and operates as expected.
Connection verification for integrations - You can also verify if your Tackle-Salesforce App integration is working as expected.
Before you begin
To enable the use of test environments you must have:
A Tackle production account. If you are an existing Tackle customer, you will already have access to your production account
Access test environments in Tackle
Once you're enabled, there is no setup required to access a test environment. You can switch between your production and test environment(s):
In Tackle, go to the left menu to find your current environment.
Click Switch environments. A menu appears with a list of available environments you can use. Your current environment will show a blue checkmark next to it.
Note: Different icons will display depending on which environment you're in. A green Production icon means it's a Production environment. An orange Test icon means it's a Test Environment.
Click the environment you want to switch to. The selected environment will load and the blue current environment checkmark will update.
