Before you begin
Setting up a new Salesforce sandbox copy is highly recommended and will enable you to test your Salesforce workflows from end-to-end in a sandbox environment.
You will need the following resources:
Salesforce Admin
Important
If you are not using the Tackle Salesforce integration or are not testing in a Salesforce sandbox environment, then you can skip this step.
What are test environments and why do I need to link them?
AWS is making this ACE upgrade irreversible, so we want to make sure that you have a way to test all of these v14 upgrade changes without affecting your production Tackle or Salesforce accounts or interrupting your co-sell processes. Test environments will allow you to safely test all of your co-sell flows with the newest version of ACE before updating your production accounts. This article will walk you through how to set up test environments in both Tackle and Salesforce for successful testing.
Setting up your Salesforce sandbox
In order to fully test this new ACE v14 upgrade in the Salesforce integration, we highly recommend that you create a Salesforce sandbox, as this will ensure you are testing with your most up-to-date opportunity data.
This will also need to be a new or refreshed Salesforce Sandbox with all production customizations included, as testing will not work as expected if reusing an existing Salesforce sandbox that does not mirror production.
A full copy Salesforce sandbox is ideal as it will bring your data with it. If you only have access to create a dev copy, then you will need to remap your data fields. In a partial sandbox situation, the Salesforce Admin should select Tackle mappings on the partial sandbox template as data that should be copied over into the partial sandbox.
To create your Salesforce sandbox:
Log into your Salesforce account.
Create a Salesforce sandbox copy of your production environment. This will bring all of your customizations and integrations into the sandbox environment if you have any, which will be an important part of the testing process.
Download the newest Tackle Salesforce package version from AppExchange into your sandbox environment.
