After you've installed the Tackle - Salesforce integration package, along with setting up Tackle Co-Sell in Salesforce, we need to take a few more actions to make sure co-sell works correctly and all your data flows to the right places. The first two steps listed below are required to make co-sell function in Salesforce β the rest add clarity and automation to your workflows.
Configure required flows
Add a flow to close a co-sell opportunity
This flow helps sellers avoid having to close the opportunity more than once and in multiple places.
Activate the Close a Co-sell when Opportunity is Closed flow. You can either use the flow as it is, or clone it in order to customize it.
Add the flow to your opportunity record by going to the Lightning App Builder. Configure it to pass the record ID to into this variable and set the filter to show when the opportunity is closed.
βWhen you click Save, this flow should appear for sellers who move an opportunity to closed.
Add flows to manage inbound co-sell opportunities
When your organization receives a co-sell opportunity from AWS (an inbound opportunity), a Tackle Co-Sell record will automatically be created for you to accept or decline.
β
The Tackle - Salesforce integration include two flows related to the lead conversion tool for inbound opportunities that are activated by default:
Insert Lead on Inbound Tackle Co-Sell: This creates a Lead record when the Tackle Co-Sell is accepted
Update Tackle Co-Sell on Lead Conversion: This links the Tackle Co-Sell to the Opportunity when you convert a Lead to an Opportunity
Configure additional co-sell features
Configure bulk co-sell submission to Tackle
Configure Salesforce so you can submit multiple co-sell opportunities to Tackle.
Note
You must have version 1.38 or greater to use this feature. If you are upgrading from a previous version, you must also add fields to your page layout and add new pick list values.
In the Object Manager for the Opportunity Object Details, click List View Button Layout.
Under List View Button Layout, click the drop-down arrow then click Edit.
Scroll down to the Custom Buttons section. Under Available Buttons, select Co-Sell: Bulk Submit to Tackle, then click Add to transfer it to Selected Buttons.
βClick Save.
Add fields to page layout
There are some fields that are helpful to see in your page layout, that were not visible prior to version 1.38 of the Tackle - Salesforce integration. If you are upgrading from a prior version, follow these steps to add the fields.
Submission Errors: This field makes it easier to see why a submission was unsuccessful so you can correct the error.
Project Title Full: Sometimes Salesforce is not able to display a full project title due to character limits. This field shows the project title that was sent to the cloud before the maximum character limit in Salesforce was applied.
In Salesforce, you need to add them to the page layout for the Tackle Co-Sell record.
Use Setup to go to Object Manager > Tackle Co-Sell > Page Layouts.
Select the Tackle Co-Sell Layout page layout.
From the Fields menu at the top, drag these two fields onto the page layout: Project Title Full and Submission Errors.
Click Save.
Add pick list values for co-sell
If you are upgrading from a Tackle - Salesforce integration version prior to 1.38, after configuring bulk submission, you must also add fields to the page layout, and add these pick list values to the Stage field.
In Salesforce, go to Setup > Object Manager > Tackle Co-Sell > Fields & Relationships.
Find and open the Stage field (API name: tackle__Stage__c).
Add two new pick list values:
Unsubmitted
Pending Submission to Tackle
Click Save.
Configure statuses in Salesforce
The Tackle - Salesforce integration defaults to using Tackle stages and statuses in Salesforce. Your Salesforce Admin can configure the app to instead display the cloud marketplace statuses and stages if you prefer them in reports, list view or in co-sell opportunities over the Tackle stages and statuses.
To add the cloud marketplace fields to the Tackle Co-sell object layout:
In Salesforce, go to Set up> Object Manager> Tackle Co-sell > Page layouts > Tackle co-sell layout > Fields.
Drag the field you would like onto the page layout.
Click Save.
These are the most common Salesforce fields that use stage and status values.
