Tackle integrates with Salesforce to bring Tackle features inside the leading Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. Whenever possible, we recommend installing and using this integration, so your team can access the benefits of Tackle without ever leaving one of the most central apps in your workflow.

About your Salesforce app version

Tackle has two separate managed packages for Salesforce:

  • Tackle for Salesforce is the latest integration, and brings an updated Tackle user experience inside your Salesforce account.

  • The legacy Salesforce integration, also called the Tackle - Salesforce integration, is still supported for customers who previously installed it, but is no longer available for new installations.

Tackle for Salesforce, the latest app, is currently in a Controlled Availability release, offered only to select customers. We invite customers to this release based on their Tackle account feature usage and their current Tackle-Salesforce automation and reporting setup, among other criteria. New features are continuously being added to Tackle for Salesforce, and will be published in the Salesforce release notes in this help center.

Eventually, all customers will be expected to upgrade from the legacy integration to Tackle for Salesforce. However, the legacy integration currently supports some additional features not available in Tackle for Salesforce, including use cases with Microsoft commercial marketplace private offers. You can still install the Tackle for Salesforce integration if you use these features, but you’ll have to access them within the Tackle platform until these features are added to the latest Salesforce release.

To request access to download the newest package, look for the ‘Request access’ button on your Integrations page. If you don’t see that option, or if you want help determining whether your account setup is ready for upgrading, contact your Tackle representative or email [email protected].

Ongoing support for Salesforce app versions

New feature development will only be added to the Tackle for Salesforce app moving forward. However, unlike the previous Salesforce integration, most new feature releases for Tackle for Salesforce will not require your Salesforce administrator to install a new version of the app! New versions of Tackle for Salesforce will only be required for bug fixes and major development changes.

Customers are expected to keep their apps up-to-date. When a new version of the Tackle for Salesforce app is released, we will support the previous minor version for two months after release of the newer version. For example, if version 2.4.0 is released in July, we will support version 2.3.0 until September.

Tackle will continue to minimally support the legacy Tackle - Salesforce app as we continue to develop the latest app to support all major Tackle use cases and assist customers with upgrading to Tackle for Salesforce. We will announce the official deprecation date of the legacy app (versions 1.49 and earlier) at least 30 days in advance.
