Tackle has two separate managed packages and general releases for Salesforce:

  • Tackle for Salesforce is the latest integration. The most recent version is 2.2. If you are using an older version, update to the latest packaged version to get these releases. New package versions are released roughly every two months.

  • Legacy Salesforce integration, also called the Tackle - Salesforce integration, is still supported for customers who previously installed it, but is no longer available for new installations. The final release of the legacy integration was version 1.49.

  • General releases happen on a monthly cadence. These are updates or enhancements that auto occur on the Tackle platform to support the Tackle for Salesforce integration. You don't need to do any package version upgrades to get these releases.

Ultimately, all customers will be expected to upgrade to the latest Tackle for Salesforce app. For more information on the differences between Tackle for Salesforce and the legacy Salesforce integration, and to learn if your business is ready to upgrade to the latest version, see our article Introduction to the Salesforce integration.

Need to upgrade to the latest version of Tackle for Salesforce?

If you're already using the Tackle for Salesforce app and want to upgrade to the latest version, see How to upgrade the the latest Tackle for Salesforce package.

However, if you are still using the legacy Tackle - Salesforce app, follow our guide Upgrade from a legacy Salesforce integration version instead.

Salesforce integration upgrade policy

You can find out about new package versions of our Tackle for Salesforce app from a notification banner on the Tackle Integrations page, or in our release notes. When a new package version is released, you will be expected to upgrade to the latest version.

Tackle supports only the latest two versions of Tackle for Salesforce and the final version of the legacy Salesforce integration. When a new version of the Tackle for Salesforce app is released, we will support the previous minor version for two months after release of the newer version. For example, if version 2.4 is released in July, we will support version 2.3 until September.

This means:

  • New features and bug fixes are only available on the latest version of your app release.

  • If you’re using an older version of the Tackle for Salesforce integration and are experiencing issues, you must update to the latest version before contacting Tackle Support.

  • If you’re using the legacy Salesforce integration and are experiencing issues, Tackle Support may need to assist you in upgrading to the latest Tackle for Salesforce package to solve your problem.

To stay informed and upgraded on our latest version of Tackle for Salesforce, we recommend you follow these best practices:

  • Read our Salesforce release notes for the latest upgrades and other news. You can bookmark the notes or check in periodically to keep updated.

  • Note that Tackle typically releases updates to the integration every 6-8 weeks.
