Tackle has two separate managed packages for Salesforce:

  • Tackle for Salesforce is the latest integration, currently in a Controlled Availability release. The most recent version is 2.0.0.

  • The legacy Salesforce integration, also called the Tackle - Salesforce integration, is still supported for customers who previously installed it, but is no longer available for new installations. The final release of the legacy integration was version 1.49.

For more information on the differences between Tackle for Salesforce and the legacy Salesforce integration, see our article Introduction to the Salesforce integration.

Eventually, all customers will be expected to upgrade to the latest Tackle for Salesforce app. To learn if your business is a candidate for the latest Salesforce package and request access to the Tackle for Salesforce app, see our article Tackle for Salesforce — Preparing to install.

Salesforce integration upgrade policy

Tackle supports only the latest version of Tackle for Salesforce and the final version of the legacy Salesforce integration. When a new version of the Tackle for Salesforce app is released, we will support the previous minor version for two months after release of the newer version. For example, if version 2.4.0 is released in July, we will support version 2.3.0 until September.

This means:

  • New features and bug fixes are only available on the latest version of your app release.

  • If you’re on an older version of the Tackle for Salesforce integration and are experiencing issues, you must update to the latest version before contacting Tackle Support.

  • If you’re using the legacy Salesforce integration and are experiencing issues, Tackle Support may need to assist you in upgrading to the latest Tackle for Salesforce package in order to solve your problem.

To stay informed and upgraded on our latest version of Tackle for Salesforce, we recommend you follow these best practices:

  • Read our Salesforce release notes for the latest upgrades and other news. You can bookmark the notes or check in periodically to keep updated.

  • Note that Tackle typically releases updates to the integration every 4-6 weeks.
