As you build a good relationship and brand recognition with a cloud partner, they may recognize a potential buyer for your product and send you an inbound opportunity. If this happens, you will receive an email from the cloud provider and see the new opportunity in Tackle. It is up to you to accept or decline these potential opportunities in order to proceed.
Important
Accepting or declining inbound co-sell opportunities is supported and currently in private preview for Microsoft.
If you accept an opportunity it will be sent back to the cloud provider for review and approval. If you decline an opportunity, it will remain in your list of opportunities but will no longer be active.
Note
Some fields may be unavailable or disabled until you accept the opportunity. Once you accept the opportunity, the cloud provider will release the missing information and you will be able to connect to sales representative.
To accept or decline invitations:
In Tackle > Co-Sell, go to the Origination (Source) filter and select Inbound to view only inbound opportunities. All opportunities with the status Accept or Decline need your action to proceed.
Click an opportunity name to view details. The status bar at the top of the page should indicate that you need to accept or decline this opportunity.
To accept the opportunity, select Accept. You will receive confirmation that you accepted the opportunity and the status of the opportunity changes to Pending Review. Once the cloud provider receives your acceptance and releases details (usually within the hour), the opportunity status changes to Accepted. You should now see any opportunity details that were missing, and you can proceed to connect with partner representatives or to close the opportunity as won or lost.
To decline the opportunity, select Decline. You will receive confirmation that you declined the opportunity. The progress bar and status update to Declined. You are no longer able to edit an opportunity that has been declined.
