You can create Microsoft multiparty private offers (MPOs)🔗 in Tackle to view, track, and book offers once they're accepted by your end customers, all from Tackle.

Before you begin

Note that there is no pre-configuration required aside from setting up public plans for the Microsoft commercial marketplace. This applies to direct private offers, too.

Create a partner resale private offer

  1. In Tackle, go to the left menu and click Offers.

  2. Click Create offer and select Partner offer. An offer form opens.

  3. Complete all the required sections and fields. Add optional information as needed.

  4. When you're done, review and submit your offer.

How to use partner offer form sections

Like the direct offer form, the partner offer form requires that you enter specific information for your buyer and the partner offer. See each section to know the information you need and what you can skip for now to create your partner offer.

Company name

Enter the company name of your buyer for this offer. This is required information. The company name is used by Tackle to create the opportunity name for you in the selected cloud marketplace. For example, if you’re creating an offer, Tackle will use this information to create the opportunity in the Microsoft commercial marketplace for you.

This information is also added to all Tackle email notifications for the associated offer.

Select a listing

Select your listing and then add pricing and contract details. This includes selecting a payment model and billing terms.

Note

For pricing, add the pricing you are offering your partner. Your partner will receive your set pricing and mark it up when extending an offer to their buyer.

Partner details

Tip

You can find a list of eligible Microsoft Partners by logging in to your Microsoft AI Cloud Partner account and viewing this list provided by Microsoft.

Add a partner name and a seller ID. The partner name is the name of your partner’s company. Adding this information is optional but you can add it to display the name in the bookable artifact, helping you keep track of key details throughout the transaction. Additionally:

  • Only one partner name and seller ID can be added.

  • The seller ID must be an exact match to how it shows in the marketplace.

  • Your partner can locate this information in Partner Center under Account settings > Identifiers > Publisher within their company profile.

Terms and conditions

Upload terms and conditions and any other documents pertinent to the offer. Any uploaded document will be visible to the buyer once the offer is created. You can upload a single PDF document as terms and conditions.

Registration details

Complete any registration fields that are configured for the listing you selected. This information appears in the New Order email notification for this offer.

Tip

As a best practice, complete these registration fields now so your buyers don’t need to. This saves your buyers time and ensures you receive your New Order notification as soon as possible.

Contract metadata

Complete any contract metadata fields that are configured for the listing you selected. The information here is added to the bookable receipt, providing your team with key details to book and manage an offer after it's accepted. Common data fields can include a CRM or Salesforce ID, Quote ID, internal account references, and any other details to better track an offer throughout the transaction.

Metadata required to create the private offer in the Microsoft Partner Center:

Tip

You can use reuse the metadata when selecting the same listing. To do that, go to your listing settings and set up the metadata for that listing.

Offer details

Enter the offer expiration date. This is the latest date that your buyer has to accept the private offer:

Renewals

If you are creating a partner private offer for an existing customer, select the Renewal checkbox. You can also select this option if this is an offer for an existing customer who previously purchased your product outside of the marketplace and is now purchasing on the marketplace for the first time.

Note: Private offers for renewal receive a lowered marketplace fee rate.

Offer ID

Offer ID is not required for partner private offers. Once the offer is created in the selected cloud marketplace, Tackle will auto fill this for you. Offer ID is only required to associate an existing marketplace offer to Tackle.

Notify users

Add the email address of any internal stakeholders that you want to receive email updates on the status of the offer.

Tip

As a best practice, you’ll want to add the account executive (AE) and an internal revenue operations email distribution to keep the AE in the know and include the entire Rev Ops team

Review and submit your partner offer

  1. Click Review offer. The offer details page opens.

  2. Review the offer details. To edit, go to the section you want to update and click the pencil icon.

  3. When you’re ready to create the offer, click Create offer. Processing the offer can take a minute.

  4. After the offer is created in Tackle, click the Refresh icon. A View offer section opens. You can click the View offer link.

  5. Once your partner takes the opportunity details and creates an offer in the selected cloud marketplace, Tackle will take the Offer ID and populate it to your partner offer in Tackle. After it’s accepted by the buyer, Tackle will send you email notifications, including bookable artifacts, for your records.

Note

The status bar at the top of the Tackle Offer page is not reflective of the statuses viewable for a partner offer. The following statuses are not applicable, as the offer is between your partner and the buyer and no email is sent from Tackle to the end buyer: Offer email has been sent, Offer email has been viewed, Offer has been viewed.

At any time while the offer is in progress, you can check the status to stay updated.
