AWS has announced their latest version of ACE, which requires all customers to migrate to a new version of the Tackle Salesforce package by December 31, 2024 in order for your co-sell processes and programs to continue uninterrupted.

To learn more about ACE v14 and changes to AWS fields, read our Introducing ACE v14 article.

Phase 1: ACE Prerequisites

  1. Set up your solutions in ACE.

    • You will need the following resources:

      • Partner Central Account Admin with “Alliance Lead” role

    • This step is required for everyone before moving on to the next setup phase.

    • AWS may refer to solutions as "offerings" in their documentation.

  2. Link AWS Marketplace and Partner Central Account.

    • You will need the following resources:

      • Partner Central Account Admin with “Alliance Lead” role

      • MP seller Account Admin with access to AWS IAM Admin console and “Cloud Admin” role in Partner Central

    • This step is required for ISVs in a co-sell program that requires linking offers to co-sell opportunities, and Tackle highly recommends that all vendors complete this step now as it will soon be a universal requirement for AWS co-sell.

Phase 2: Tackle and Salesforce Prerequisites

  1. Add your ACE Solutions to Tackle.

    • You will need the following resources:

      • User with Tackle Admin permissions

      • Partner Central Account Admin with “Alliance Lead” role

    • Adding your ACE solutions to Tackle is required to co-sell through Tackle. Solutions may be added individually or by bulk upload.

  2. Set up your Salesforce sandbox for testing

    • You will need the following resources:

      • Salesforce Admin

      • User with Tackle Admin permissions

    • Setting up a fresh Salesforce sandbox copy is highly recommended and will enable you to test your Salesforce workflows from end-to-end in a sandbox environment.

Phase 3: Salesforce

  1. Link your test environments.

    • You will need the following resources:

      • Salesforce Admin

      • User with Tackle Admin permissions

    • Linking a Salesforce sandbox and Tackle test account will enable you to test your Salesforce workflows from end-to-end in a sandbox environment.

  2. Upgrade your test environments to the new ACE v14.

    • You will need the following resources:

      • Salesforce Admin

      • Alliance Lead

    • Upgrade the Tackle AppExchange package in your Salesforce sandbox to the latest version and set up your data mappings and workflows for testing.

  3. Test your co-sell workflows.

    • You will need the following resources:

      • Alliance Lead

      • Salesforce Admin

    • You will want to test the following standard workflows at a minimum:

      • Creating and editing an outbound co-sell

      • Receiving, accepting and declining an inbound co-sell

      • Launching a co-sell as closed-won

  4. Promote v14 changes to production environment in Salesforce.

    • You will need the following resources:

      • Salesforce Admin

      • Alliance Lead

    • When you have tested everything in your Salesforce sandbox and are ready to push your changes to production, you can do so through Salesforce.
