Create Google Cloud Marketplace direct private offers in Tackle to extend to your buyers. After a Google Cloud offer is created, submitted, and reviewed, Tackle sends the information—things like custom pricing, packaging, terms, and conditions—to the marketplace for you. You can track the progress of your offer from creation to acceptance in Tackle at any time.

About Google Cloud multiple orders: Google allows sellers to create more than one private offer for the same product and buyer when using flat-rate plans as part of a “Pre-GA” preview for multiple orders.

Tip

As a best practice, you should create and extend private offers only after you and your buyer have agreed on a final quote and not when quoting a price.

Note

Before you begin

Grant Tackle access and permissions to create offers in the Google Cloud console on your behalf if you haven't already. Once access is granted, you're ready to create an offer for Google Cloud.

Create a Google Cloud direct private offer

  1. In Tackle, go to the left menu and click Offers.

  2. Click Create offer and select Direct offer.

  3. Complete each section. Make sure to enter company and buyer details, and select a listing first before you complete anything else.

  4. When you’re done, review and submit your offer.

How to use the offer form sections

Each section in the offer form requires you to enter specific information for your buyer and the offer. See each section to know what information you need and what you can skip for now to create your direct private offer:

Company name

Enter your buyer’s company name. Tackle uses this information to create the offer name in the Google Cloud Marketplace.

Buyer details

Enter your buyer’s full name, email address, and job title. You can add more than one buyer for the offer:

  • Full name and job title appears in the Tackle private offer and order notifications

  • Email address is used to send cloud marketplace-specific purchase instructions to help your buyer accept their offer

Product and pricing

Select the Google Cloud listing for your private offer and enter payment, billing terms, and other details:

  • Payment model: Only Payment schedule is currently available. Learn more about pricing models and fees.

  • Billing term: Select Custom or Future Dated. Google Cloud does not offer preset durations.
Note: You listing must be enabled for future-dated agreements to create a future-dated offer.

    • Custom: For a custom billing term, enter the months using numerical values between 2 and 60. For example, if this is for one year, enter 12 (for the months).

    • Future Dated: Enter a start and end date.

  • Select a plan: Select a plan with a flat rate or flat rate + usage billing model. Flat rate and flat-rate usage are the only options currently available.

  • Billing account: Enter the customer billing account.
Learn more about finding the billing account ID.🔗

  • Marketplace fee: Enter a percentage fee. This is the listing fee charged by the cloud marketplace and helps Tackle calculate the Net Contract Value on Tackle order notifications. The fee added here does not affect the fee in the cloud marketplace.

  • Usage dimensions: When usage dimensions are present on your plan, enter a discount percentage if you want to give your buyer a discount.

  • Payment schedule: Create a payment schedule for your offer. Then enter the amount for the installment.

End-user license agreement (EULA)

Add a license agreement for your offer. You can select the Google Cloud Marketplace Standard EULA from Google or create your own contract. For custom contracts, upload a document as a PDF file, no larger than 4 MB.

Registration details

Complete any registration details that are configured for the Google Cloud listing you selected.

Tip

As a best practice, complete these registration fields now so your buyers don’t need to. This saves your buyers time and ensures you receive your New Order notification as soon as possible.

Contract metadata

Complete any contract metadata fields that are configured for the Google Cloud listing you selected. The information here is added to the bookable receipt, providing your team with key details to book and manage an offer after it's accepted. Common data fields include a CRM or Salesforce ID, Quote ID, internal account references, and any other details to better track an offer throughout the transaction.

Tip

You can use reuse the metadata when selecting the same listing. To do that, go to your listing settings and set up the metadata for that listing.

Offer details

Enter the offer expiration date. This is the latest date that your buyer has to accept the private offer.

Offer ID

You don't need to enter an Offer ID if you plan to submit the private offer from Tackle to the cloud marketplace. Tackle populates the offer ID for you once the offer is created in Tackle. Offer ID is only required to associate an existing marketplace offer to Tackle.

Notify users

Add the email address of any internal stakeholders that you want to receive email updates on the status of the offer.

Tip

As a best practice, you’ll want to add the account executive (AE) and an internal revenue operations email distribution to keep the AE in the know and include the entire Rev Ops team.

Offer point of contact

Add the internal point of contact who prepared the offer. The buyer sees this person’s name when viewing the offer in the Google Cloud Marketplace.

Tip

As a best practice, add the name of the account executive who worked with the buyer. If the buyer has any questions, they can reach out to the offer point of contact.

Review and submit your offer

When you’re done completing the form, review and submit your offer:

  1. Click Review offer. While the offer is in review, you can view the offer details. If you need to make any edits, click the Pencil icon and make any necessary updates.
Note: Once you submit the offer to the cloud marketplace, you cannot edit the Terms Conditions, Listing details, or Offer details.

  2. When the offer is ready, click Create offer to send the offer to the cloud marketplace. You can click the Refresh icon to see if the offer has been created successfully.

  3. Once the offer has been created, click Send offer email to send the purchase instructions to your buyer. The buyer will be able to use the link provided in the email notification to view and accept the offer.

Need to check the progress of your offer? View the progress bar at the top of your offer in Tackle.

After the offer is accepted, you'll receive Tackle notifications for booking and fulfillment for tracking.

  1. When completing the offer form, enter listing info, offer details and ID, and other key info:

    1. In Product and pricing, select the listing you used for the private offer and add the pricing and billing terms for the buyer you added in the Google Cloud Marketplace. For an accurate Tackle order notification, enter as much information as possible to match what is entered on the offer in the cloud marketplace. Learn more about pricing your Google Cloud direct private offer.

    2. In Offer details, enter the offer expiration date. This is the latest date that your buyer has to accept the private offer. Use this to see a visual indicator on the offer card if the offer is close to expiring. This is optional when associating a private offer.

Note: If you update the expiration date in the Google Cloud Marketplace, it will not automatically update in Tackle.

    3. In Offer ID, click the toggle to turn ON the associate to an existing Google Cloud offer option and enter the offer ID for the offer. Tackle will use this to track the status of the offer and provide you private offer and order notifications as the status updates. This is required when associating a private offer.

Things to know before canceling a private offer

  • Only offers in Offer created status in the marketplace can be canceled. Accepted offers cannot be canceled or voided.

  • Canceling an offer is different than canceling an active subscription.
