Before you begin

This step is required for ISVs in a co-sell program that requires linking offers to co-sell opportunities, and Tackle highly recommends that all vendors complete this step now as it will soon be a requirement for all.

This step of ACE v14 migration links your Marketplace and Partner Central accounts to allow for seamless single sign-on for internal users and the ability to link offers to opportunities across platforms. To set up this account linking, you should have user roles assigned in AWS Partner Central, including the cloud administrator role. If a cloud administrator role is unassigned, the alliance lead may assign themselves this role to link their AWS Partner Central and AWS Marketplace accounts.

You will need to complete both Link your AWS Partner Central account to an AWS Marketplace account and Enable CRM Integration sections. The CRM integration step has to happen after the accounts are linked, but the Cloud Admin can launch the stack separately from the Alliance Lead mapping the CRM integration role. For more detail on mapping AWS Partner Central users to AWS Marketplace IAM roles, refer to the AWS documentation in Partner Central.

You will need the following resources:

  • Partner Central Account Admin with “Alliance Lead” role to link your AWS Partner Central account to an AWS Marketplace account.

  • Marketplace seller Account Admin with access to AWS IAM Admin console and “Cloud Admin” role in Partner Central to Enable CRM integration.

Note that In order to link your AWS Partner Central account with your AWS Marketplace seller account, your AWS Marketplace seller account role must include permissions for iam:CreateRole, iam:AttachRolePolicy, and partnercentral-account management:AssociatePartnerAccount. For more details on constructing a least privilege policy supporting account linking, refer to the AWS documentation in AWS Partner Central🔗.

Link your AWS Partner Central account to an AWS Marketplace account

Important

If you use AWS IAM Identity Center (formerly AWS Single Sign-On) to sign in to your AWS Marketplace account, then you must sign in to your AWS Marketplace account with administrator privileges first (rather than in Step 5) and then open a new browser tab and proceed with the steps below.

  1. Sign in to AWS Partner Central🔗 with an Alliance Lead or Cloud Admin role.

  2. In the Account Linking section on the homepage, click Link Account.

  3. On the Account Linking page, choose Link Account. No, this isn't a duplicate of step 2.

  4. Select IAM user, and then enter the AWS Account ID for your AWS Marketplace account.

  5. Click Next, and then sign in to the AWS account.

  6. Click Allow to authorize the connection between your AWS Partner Central and AWS Marketplace accounts.

  7. For greater detail, refer to the AWS documentation🔗 in Partner Central.

Enable CRM Integration

  1. Sign in to the AWS console of your Marketplace Seller account with a user that has access to create IAM roles and launch CloudFormation stacks.

  2. Click the button below to launch the Quick create stack wizard:

    1. In the Capabilities section, check the checkbox titled I acknowledge that AWS CloudFormation might create IAM resources with custom names.

    2. Choose Create stack.

    3. Wait for the stack creation to complete. It should take less than a minute. You can use the refresh button or refresh the page to check for new events.

  3. Sign in to AWS Partner Central as a user with the alliance lead or cloud admin role.

  4. In the AWS Marketplace section of the AWS Partner Central homepage, choose Manage Linked Account.

  5. On the AWS Marketplace page, in the IAM role for CRM integration section, choose Map IAM role.

  6. Choose the PartnerCentralRoleForCrmIntegration IAM role from the dropdown list.

  7. Choose Map role.

For more detail on mapping AWS Marketplace roles to a CRM integration user, refer to the AWS documentation🔗 in Partner Central.

Map AWS Partner Central users to AWS Marketplace IAM roles

If you have Partner Central users who will continue to work in Partner Central, you will need to map them to IAM roles to enable features such as product linking and offer linking. For more detail on mapping AWS Partner Central users to AWS Marketplace IAM roles, refer to the AWS documentation🔗 in Partner Central.
