After you've confirmed that Tackle is connected to your production APN Customer Engagements (ACE) environment, you can import existing opportunities. Complete the required steps in this article.

Note

If you're migrating your v13 co-sell opportunities to the v14 data model, follow the process and steps in this article.

Step 1: Backfill co-sell opportunities

Import any existing ACE co-sell opportunities from AWS Partner Central. Importing from AWS Partner Central will prompt all of your existing co-sell opportunities to come in through the system successfully. All changes made through ACE will send that opportunity through to Tackle.

To backfill your existing co-sell opportunities from AWS Partner Central, complete the steps in Tackle > Account Settings > Co-sell > Get started: Import existing ACE co-sell opportunities from AWS Partner CentralπŸ”—.

Bulk link Tackle Co-Sell records to Salesforce opportunities

After you complete backfilling, your ACE co-sell opportunities will be in Tackle. Additionally, your Tackle production account will be connected to your Salesforce production account, and you can bulk link or map your co-sell records to your Salesforce opportunities.

Connect existing opportunities to your Salesforce opportunities

  1. Create a CSV document and add a column for each of these headers:

    • Cloud ID

    • Salesforce ID

    • Opportunity Name (optional)

Warning: Headers are case sensitive. Confirm the headers and check that they match to avoid errors.

  2. Enter the values for each opportunity. Cloud ID can be found in ACE as the Opportunity ID. Salesforce ID can be found in the SFDC opportunity URL and is generally available in Salesforce reporting. If adding an opportunity name, you can select the Salesforce or ACE opportunity name. This is a customer preference since it's not a requirement.
Note: Organizational structures may vary, but in a basic setup.

Upload your CSV to Tackle

  1. Click Import existing opportunities.
Important: If you have not already backfilled your opportunities from ACE, complete these steps first. If you already completed the steps, click Continue.

  2. In Map your co-sells to Salesforce opportunities, upload the CSV you created and click Complete.
Note: If there are any errors during the import, you will receive a CSV export with the details.

  3. The uploading and linking process will begin immediately, and based on the quantity of co-sells being linked, this can take up to an hour to complete. Once it's complete, your Tackle co-sells in Salesforce will be linked to your Salesforce opportunities.

Troubleshoot common backfill issues

Unable to link backfill files after multiple attempts

  • Reason for issue: Salesforce records were deleted

    • Solution: Verify if the record exists.

  • Reason for issue: Salesforce opportunities do not exists in your production organization

    • Solution: Confirm that the record from the CSV exists in your production organization and not in the sandbox organization.

  • Reason for issue: The integration user doesn't have correct permissions to view records

    • Solution: Check with your Salesforce admin to see if the integration user has view access/permissions in the sharing settings.
