Create and manage your AWS Marketplace partner private offers in one place. After you create, amend, or associate an offer, you can manage it and track the progress throughout the transaction.

Create AWS partner private offers

Create AWS channel partner private offers (CPPO) reseller authorizations🔗 in Tackle. By creating a partner private offer, you can view, track, and book that offer once it’s accepted by your end customer, all from Tackle.

Note

To renew a partner offer for the AWS Marketplace, you should create a new partner private offer and then your partner can either amend their existing agreement or create a new private offer depending on how they chose to renew and the status of the existing agreement.

Before you begin

When you're ready, start creating and managing your offers.

CPPO tracking for AWS partner offers

You’ll need to authorize the AWS Marketplace to enable CPPO tracking before you create a partner offer or associate a partner offer in Tackle.

  3. For Offer type, select Partner and then select New offer and click Continue. The offer form opens.

  4. When you’re done, review and submit your partner offer.

How to use the partner offers form

Like the direct offer form, the partner offer form requires that you enter specific information for your buyer and the partner offer. See each section to know the information you need and what you can skip for now to create your offer.

Basic information

When creating a partner offer, you’ll need to enter key partner and buyer information like AWS account numbers, the buyer’s company name, offer details, and also note if the offer is a renewal if applicable. All this to help ensure that the correct information is added to the marketplace once the offer is created and is included in all bookable artifacts and email notifications for the transaction.

When entering information, enter the correct formatting and details for each field:

  • Partner details - Includes the name of your partner and their AWS account number.

  • Buyer details - Includes company name and AWS account number.

  • Offer details - Add other key offer details like offer name and description.

    • Offer name - This is typically a combination of the name of your company and the offer IDs or any other general description to help you easily identify the offer, like your quote number or opportunity id. The offer name is visible to your partner.

    • Offer description - Enter additional offer notes for your receipt keeping. The partner will see your description.

  • Renewal - Select YES if you’re renewing an existing offer and the buyer is already an existing customer that is either moving to the AWS Marketplace to purchase your product or is already using the AWS Marketplace to purchase your product. Select NO if it’s a new offer that’s not a renewal. Renewal offers are eligible for reduced listing fees🔗.

Product and pricing

Select an AWS product listing and set your billing terms for the buyer, including payment model, currency, dimensions and usage as well as a payment schedule customized for your direct offer. Learn more on how to create a private offer in AWS.🔗

When entering information, enter the correct formatting and details for each field. Note the following items when setting your pricing terms for SaaS Contract Products:

  • Payment model determines how your buyer will be invoiced for an AWS offer. AWS payment models include:

  • Currency can be changed for contract listings to currencies in your disbursement preferences. Learn more about foreign currencies on the AWS Marketplace.

  • Dimensions are populated from the AWS Marketplace listing and can be searched for reuse. New dimensions can be created in each private offer. You can remove any unused dimensions from a particular private offer. New dimensions will be added to the product privately and available for future private offers. The added dimensions are final and cannot be removed from the product. You can add up to 100 dimensions to a single product About per price, API Name, and quantity:

    • Per price applies only when selecting Upfront pricing as the payment model.

    • API name is the unique identifier for dimensions related to pricing dimensions in the AWS Marketplace. When adding:

      • The name must match the name entered in the AWS Marketplace for the same dimension.

      • If the name does not match, a new custom dimension will be added to the product listing selected.

      • API name is the unique identifier for dimensions used by Tackle to call APIs related to pricing dimensions in the AWS Marketplace.

    • Quantity is the number of each dimension you are offering your buyer.

  • Use a payment schedule to set specific invoice dates for your buyer and determine the exact amount the buyer pays. Learn more about flexible payment schedules in AWS.🔗

Note the following items when setting your pricing terms for SaaS Subscription (Paygo) Products:

  • Usage End Date is used to set the date at which the pricing in this private offer will end. After this date, if the customer continues to use, they will be charged the public price.

  • Usage Dimensions can have a unique price for this private offer. Your customer will be charged this amount for each unit submitted through metering for each dimension. Customers are charged monthly in arrears by AWS for usage.

End-user license agreement (EULA)

You can select either the Standard contract for AWS Marketplace🔗, the EULA publicly available on your listing, or upload your own end-user licensing agreement. You can upload up to five (5) documents. Files must be formatted as TXT or PDF and no larger than 6 MB total.

Note: When more than one document is uploaded, Tackle will consolidate them as one PDF file.

Reseller agreement (optional)

Add a reseller agreement for your partner. You can select to upload your own custom contract or use the reseller contract from the AWS Marketplace (RCMP)🔗. Any documents uploaded here are visible to the reseller only. The buyer does not see the uploaded document.

Tip

Upload the approved quote between you and your reseller so it is attached to the reseller authorization in AWS Marketplace.

Registration details

Complete any registration fields that are configured for the AWS Marketplace listing you selected. As a best practice, complete these registration fields now so your buyers don’t need to. This saves your buyers time and ensures you receive your New Order notification immediately after extending your offer.

Additional fields

Add any additional custom fields and values for a complete bookable artifact. Standard custom fields can be configured for each of your listings.

Marketplace Fee is a standard Tackle additional field and is used to provide you with the correct Net Contract Value on any Tackle order notifications. This field is optional and does not sync with the Cloud Marketplace. Listing fees are between you and the Cloud Provider.

Offer validity period

Enter the acceptance deadline for this offer. This is the latest date that your buyer has to accept the private offer.

Notify users

Add the email address of any internal stakeholders that you want to receive email updates on the status of the offer.

Tip

As a best practice, you’ll want to add the account executive (AE) and an internal revenue operations email distribution to keep the AE in the know and include the entire Rev Ops team.

  1. Click Submit to cloud. The offer details page opens.
Tip: If you’re not ready to submit, click Save draft to save your offer and submit at a later time.

The status bar at the top of the Tackle Offers page is not reflective of the statuses viewable for a partner offer.
