In Tackle, amended offers are accepted offers that you've revised to update the original terms of an existing agreement or renew an agreement without having to collect or enter the same information. For AWS Marketplace private offers, you can amend an accepted offer to create agreement-based offer (ABO)🔗 in the cloud marketplace.
Leverage amended offers to:
Upsell or expand existing contracts in Tackle
Simplify the updating process, making your business more efficient
Speed up the opportunity to close by amending an offer within hours rather than days
How amended offers work in Tackle
You can take a previously accepted offer and use that as a base to create a new private offer for a buyer who wants to renew or upgrade a product. Tackle automatically fills in the details from the original offer, including outstanding invoices. You can edit the prefilled data or information as needed. By matching amended offers to their corresponding Tackle offers, you simplify the process of revenue reconciliation and reduce the time it takes to execute and update a contract.
Amend offers when you:
Have an existing agreement with a buyer and the buyer wants to renew or upgrade the product
Can't create a separate agreement for the same buyer and product combination. For example, if the buyer is purchasing a separate product listing, you’d create a new private offer. If it's for the same product, you would amend an existing agreement to renew.
After an AWS Marketplace offer has been accepted by your buyer, you can take that same offer and amend it to renew an offer or update an existing agreement and track it in Tackle.
Note
If you plan to renew a partner private offer depending on how your partner chooses to renew the existing agreement, see Renew partner private offers.
Amend an AWS private offer
In Tackle, create a direct offer.
In Basic information > Billing account, enter the buyer AWS account number. If Tackle is able to find in AWS that the account number is associated with existing contracts from any of your AWS listings, you’ll see a prompt.
Click Review active contracts to view any active agreements.
In Active agreements, click the Amendable contracts tab. The tab opens to all amendable contracts you may have. To view unamendable contracts, click the Unamendable contracts tab.
Find and review the contract you want to amend, and click Amend. This opens a Create amended offer form. Tackle autofills the form for you, taking existing information like the buyer AWS account number and payment schedule from the original contract and adding it to the form.
Edit and complete the amended offer.
When you’re done, review and submit your offer.
