Preview feature

This feature is currently in preview and not yet accessible to all Tackle customers. For more information, contact [email protected].

You can create private offers directly from an opportunity in Salesforce to quickly build offers with specific pricing and structure details that meet the needs of your buyers and business. Additionally, you can enable private offer details to pre-populate using the field mapper to save time and create a more repeatable and less error prone process.

Additional benefits of using Tackle in Salesforce include the ability to control who in your organization through permissions. Set up who in your organization can create draft private offers and approve and create offers on the marketplace.

Permissions available:

  • Tackle for Salesforce - Read-Only Marketplace - Users can only view private offers.

  • Tackle for Salesforce - Create Draft Marketplace - Users can create draft private offers, but not submit them to the marketplace.

  • Tackle for Salesforce - Full Access Marketplace - Users can approve private offers and create them on the marketplace.

Create a private offer from Salesforce

  1. On your Opportunities page in Salesforce, go to the Tackle for Salesforce view and click the Offers tab.

  2. Click Create AWS offer or Create Microsoft offer for the marketplace you want to create. A Create offer selection opens in the view.

  3. For Offer type, select Direct for a direct-to-buyer private offer or select Partner for a private offer with a resale partner.

    1. Select Create new offer for a new private offer, or select Import to associate an existing offer to track an offer that you previously created on the marketplace directly.

  4. Complete the form for the private offer type selected.

  5. When you’re done, click Submit to cloud. You can also save your offer as a draft and submit when you’re ready. For more on how to complete the sections in the form depending on the type of offer you're creating, see:

Edit a private offer from Salesforce

Note: Only offers in Draft status can be fully edited. Offers submitted to and created in the marketplace cannot be fully edited - only limited fields can be updated, including the marketplace acceptance deadline.

  1. On your Opportunity page in Salesforce, go to the Tackle for Salesforce view and select the Offers tab.

  2. Click the tab for the cloud marketplace offer you want to edit: AWS, Google, or Microsoft. A list of offers appears.

  3. Find the offer for the opportunity and click Edit offer.

  4. Edit the offer form as needed.

  5. When you’re done, click Submit to cloud.
Note: You can still save this offer as a draft until you’re ready to submit it to the cloud. To save, click Save draft.

Cancel a private offer from Salesforce

You can cancel a private offer before the offer is accepted. This is useful for when you have an error in an offer and you want to void it before the buyer can accept the private offer. Once you cancel your offer, you can create a new one to replace it.

Note

  • Only offers in Offer created status can be canceled. Accepted offers cannot be canceled or voided.

  • Canceling an offer is different than canceling an active subscription.

To cancel a private offer:

  1. On your Opportunity page in Salesforce, go to the Tackle for Salesforce view and select the Offers tab.

  2. If you have an existing offer on this opportunity, find the offer that you want to cancel.
Note: Accepted offers cannot be canceled, only offers in Offer created status.

  3. Select Cancel.

A confirmation opens in the view.

  4. Click Cancel offer to cancel your offer.
Warning: Once you click Cancel offer, this action cannot be undone. To cancel your request, click Cancel or close the pop-up.

  5. Wait for the Offer canceled message in the offer details. This can take a few seconds. Once the offer is canceled, the message appears.

After the offer is canceled, it will show in Canceled status in your Offers list. At this point you can also archive your offer.

Archive a private offer from Salesforce

Archive private offers in Salesforce when you want to clean up your offers from your view, retire them for any reason, or if an offer is expiring soon.

Note

  • You can archive any direct or partner private offer from Salesforce.

  • Offers cannot be deleted. Archiving is ideal for offers you want to remove from your dashboard.

To archive a private offer from Salesforce:

  1. On your Opportunity page in Salesforce, go to the Tackle for Salesforce view and select the Offers tab.

  2. If you have an existing offer on this opportunity, find the offer that you want to cancel.

  3. Click the More menu option and then click Archive.

    A confirmation pop-up opens.

  4. Click Archive offer to confirm your selection.
Note: Archiving an offer only removes it from Tackle Offers and the Tackle for Salesforce widget but does not permanently delete it in Tackle, in your Salesforce, or the marketplace. You can recover an archived offer by contacting a Tackle Marketplace guide to assist you.

  5. After the offer is archived, it will show in Archived status.
