Once you have finished testing everything in a Sandbox environment, the next step is to promote your Salesforce Sandbox changes to production. This production push must happen before December 31st to maintain compliance with AWS.

Before you begin

You will need the following resources:

  • Salesforce Admin

  • Alliance Lead

Promote v14 changes from Salesforce sandbox to production

Once you have finished testing everything in a Sandbox environment, the next step is to promote your Salesforce Sandbox changes to production. This production push must happen before December 31st to maintain compliance with AWS.

  1. In your Salesforce production account, download and install the latest Tackle package version (1.43 or newer) from AppExchange.

  2. Navigate to the Data Mapper in your Salesforce production account.

  3. At the top, there is a yellow banner with information about v14. Click the “Upgrade now” button in the banner and confirm your upgrade in the modal to kick off the changes for production.

  4. Review and map any new ACE v14 fields in the Data Mapper.

  5. Deploy any changes to custom components from your Salesforce sandbox to production.

  6. If you’re using standard Tackle package permissions, then these will be upgraded automatically. If you have custom permissions for anything, then you will need to set your permissions for specific workflows, like closing a co-sell. If this is a net new configuration of your Salesforce instance, be sure to add the required "close an opportunity" flow, as well.

  7. Once you upgrade your production Tackle Salesforce integration, then your Tackle production account will be updated automatically. When the upgrade is complete, you must submit a new opportunity or an update to an existing open opportunity in order to be officially migrated onto ACE v14.

You have now completed the ACE v14 migration and can continue co-selling.

Important

The previous integration will no longer be supported by ACE on December 31st. You must be finished with your migration by then to continue co-selling uninterrupted.

Promote v14 changes straight to Salesforce production

If you are not testing in a Sandbox environment first, follow these steps when you are ready to upgrade the Tackle Salesforce app to v14 directly in your production account in Salesforce.

Keep in mind that Tackle highly recommends that you test in a full sandbox environment first, especially if you have any customizations or automations. If you are choosing not to test the v14 changes in a sandbox environment first, then follow the steps below. Your Salesforce production account must be upgraded to v14 before December 31st to maintain compliance with AWS. This upgrade is irreversible.
