Upgrade the Tackle AppExchange package in your Salesforce sandbox to the latest version and set up your data mappings and workflows for testing.

Before you begin

You will need the following resources:

  • Salesforce Admin

  • Alliance Lead

Before starting completing the workflows below, watch this video guide to familiarize yourself with the expected process.

Note

If you are not using the Tackle Salesforce integration or testing in a Salesforce sandbox environment, skip this step.

Upgrade your Salesforce sandbox

  1. Download the newest Tackle Salesforce package version (1.43 or newer) from AppExchange into your sandbox environment.

  2. Navigate to the Tackle Co-sell tab of your Salesforce sandbox and then to the AWS Co-sell Data Mapper from there.

  3. Click the “Upgrade now” button on the yellow banner when you are ready for your sandbox fields to switch over to v14. A confirmation modal will display important information with a reminder that this upgrade is irreversible.

    1. If the “Upgrade now” button is disabled, that means that you have not completed the two connection steps in the Tackle Setup Assistant.

  4. A success message will show when the upgrade is complete.

  5. Review all of your fields closely to be sure that all mappings have carried over. Additionally, all new ACE v14 fields are marked with a flag icon. Review these to determine if you would like to map any of them and set up the new Field Mapper to confirm the fields are sent to the Tackle Platform as expected.

Important: As a reminder, AWS also deprecated some fields with this new version. You can review the field changes here.

  6. If you use a customized version of the Close Co-Sell when Opportunity is Closed flow from Tackle, you will need to clone the flow and incorporate your customizations into it for this new version.

    1. If you are a part of a program that requires you to map to SaaS documentation tab, then you will need to activate an additional fields package to meet program requirements.

  7. Also remember to check that your solutions are syncing to Salesforce. You will see your solutions synced to your Solutions table in Salesforce.

    1. If you do not see your solutions syncing to Salesforce:

      • Confirm that you have set up your solutions in ACE as well as Tackle.

      • Confirm that your Tackle and Salesforce accounts are correctly connected.

      • If you still do not see your solutions after confirming the above and refreshing the page, please contact Tackle Support.
